Twin over full bunk beds feature a twin bed in the top bunk and a full-size bed in the bottom bunk. Standard twin mattresses measure 39 inches (3.25 feet) by 75 inches (6.25 feet) while full size mattresses measure 54 inches (4.5 feet) by 75 inches (6.25 feet). The slightly wider bottom bunk affords more space to a slightly larger individual, or simply to anybody who requires more space than the occupant of the top bed.
These models also work exceedingly well for siblings who are several years apart. While the younger sibling is comfortable in the top bunk, the older sibling has the room that he or she needs to feel comfortable on the bottom. Plus, once the older sibling outgrows his or her bed, the younger sibling can take the more spacious bottom bunk.
